About this Website
The Task Force on Strengthening Nonprofit Capacity was created by Texas Health and Human Services Commission in 2010 as directed by House Bill 492, 81st Legislature, Regular Session, 2009. The eight members of the Task Force were appointed by HHSC Commissioner Thomas Suehs in consultation with Texas Governor Rick Perry. The Task Force members term ends in December 2011.
The Task Force submitted their findings, report and legislative recommendations to Texas legislators in November 2010 after hosting five public hearings, conducting a survey of nonprofits and working together in discussion. Texas HHSC and the OneStar Foundation aided in facilitating and planning the work of the Task Force. The full content of the Task Force Report and Recommendations -- now public domain -- make up the content of this website.
This site has been developed and maintained by Task Force member Brad Carter in partnership with the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations. No public funds were used in the creation or maintenance of this website.
